Free Mental Health Resources:

Today is blue Monday – otherwise known as the most depressing day of the year. And this blue Monday is even more depressing than usual as we’re all enduring a national lockdown and the coronavirus pandemic.

That’s why we’ve created this list of free online self-help services, that could help your employees get through these tough times.

When it comes to emotions, it can sometimes be hard to recognise or admit that we’re not feeling 100%. This online self assessment can help you better understand how you’ve been feeling and point you in the right direction for helpful advice and information.

The NHS have produced a series of mental wellbeing audio guides to help you boost your mood. In each guide a doctor explains how you can combat a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, sleep problems, low confidence and unhelpful thinking.

‘The Mix’ provides essential support for those under 25. Their website contains a wealth of mental health information including expert advice and ambassador stories.

They have a helpline that can be accessed at 0808 808 4994. They also have a 1-2-1 chat which can be accessed here.

SAMARITANS

Samaritans provides confidential, non-judgemental emotional support for people experiencing feelings of distress or despair, including those that could lead to suicide. You can phone their 24 hour helpline on – 116 123.

Shout is the UK’s first 24/7 text service, free on all major mobile networks, for anyone in crisis anytime, anywhere. It’s a place to go if you’re struggling to cope and you need immediate help. Text on 85258.
